The Art of Asking the Beautiful Question

Spend the morning in a special interactive session with poet David Whyte, discovering the deep well of beauty and creativity that lies within each of us. Through his storytelling, poetry readings, and directed writing exercises, you’ll explore language as a tool to expand our understanding of the world and a medium for plumbing the depths of our own experience. You’ll learn the art of articulating and asking the necessary questions that help us reimagine ourselves, our world, and our part in it. These are the “beautiful questions”—ones we often ask in very unbeautiful moments, perhaps the darkest moments we can imagine. We may not find answers, but simply by virtue of asking and grappling with them, they serve to shape our identity, deepen our vision, and expand our imagination.

Note: This special half-day session will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m.

David Whyte, Hons, poet, author and internationally acclaimed speaker, is the author of eight books of poetry and four books of prose, including Consolations: The Solace, Nourishment & Underlying Meaning of Everyday Words, The Three Marriages: Reimagining Work, Self & Other, and River Flow: New & Selected Poems.

And failure to do so can impede the treatment of mood disorders, trauma, addictions, and even relationship issues.
