215/315 Post-Traumatic Growth

Lisa Ferentz • Friday All Day

Lisa FerentzMuch has been written about the destructive and demoralizing effects of trauma. But post-traumatic growth is a process through which adverse life experiences open up new possibilities of healing that might not have occurred otherwise.

In this workshop, we’ll focus on:

  • The tangible markers of post-traumatic growth, such as a new way of relating to others, the capacity to believe in new possibilities, the rediscovery of personal strengths, and a newfound appreciation for life in general
  • Specific strategies to help clients connect with the concepts of post-traumatic growth and their own growth journey, including writing exercises, role plays, and guided imagery
  • How to utilize somatic resourcing and remembered resources to access the clients’ inner wisdom

This session will continue with workshop 315.

Lisa Ferentz, LCSW-C, DAPA, a private practitioner, consultant, and educator specializing in trauma, is the founder of the Institute for Advanced Psychotherapy Training and Education, and is author of Treating Self-Destructive Behaviors in Trauma Survivors: A Clinician’s Guide.
