208/308 Unlocking the Emotional Brain

Bruce Ecker & Sara Bridges • Friday All Day

Bruce EckerSarah BridgesRecent discoveries in neuroscience have revealed that memory reconsolidation is the core process that’s in play whenever deep transformation occurs. It’s the brain’s innate process for unlocking and erasing an ingrained emotional learning.

In this workshop, you’ll explore the steps that free clients from entrenched reactions, attachment patterns, compulsive behaviors, and long-standing emotional wounds. Through video and live demonstrations, you’ll learn how to:

  • Expose the emotional learnings that underlie clients’ unwanted patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior
  • Help clients access vivid knowledge of experiences that contradicts dysfunctional learnings
  • Combine emotional learnings and their contraindicators to create juxtaposition experiences that can lead to transformational change

This session will continue with workshop 308.

Bruce Ecker, MA, LMFT, is codirector of the Coherence Psychology Institute and coauthor of Unlocking the Emotional Brain and Depth Oriented Brief Therapy.

Sara Bridges, PhD, is codirector of the Coherence Psychology Institute, an associate professor at the University of Memphis, and coeditor of the series Studies in Meaning.
