Thank you for this interesting perspective with difficult couples. I have done some of this with out having a name for it and really enjoyed your take on this challenging work.

Very helpful webinar and an interesting approach. I have seen couples separately for a few sessions when the couples session became too emotionally volatile. As I think back about those couples, it was pretty clear that they had entered therapy with different agendas, and most frequently this was not clearly stated but "the elephant in the room". I have tried the individual sessions approach "by the seat of my pants" and not very successfully, not having had any particular structure or plan to help couples make a decision on how to get back to a place (or make a different decision) where the couples therapy work could begin (or not begin). I am very interested in learning more about using discernment counseling!

I was very interested in Mr. Doherty's technique in Discernment Counseling. Great information on different way to address the couple that is on different pages. This gave me some great insight in to how to work with each couple individually yet together. Thank you Rich for bringing such great speakers togerther that share their wisdom with us. I have attended many live seminars or workshops and walk away feeling what did I just learn, or how do I implement that approach into my session. Again this has been a great tool for improving and growing in my techniques. Thank you
